On 12th May the annual WGSU Awards Ceremony took place, recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and teams at Wrexham Glyndwr University.
The two-hour ceremony celebrated excellence in various categories, from exceptional academic support to remarkable contributions made in extracurricular activities seen in student society groups and sports teams.
We are so proud of our directors, Karen & Roxy, who won the prestigious Presidents Award for the wonderful work they have done to set up and run Familiarisation Videos, whilst studying full time for their degrees in Mental Health & Wellbeing.
“Winning this award means so much to us, and I still can't quite believe that we were nominated and chosen to receive this amazing recognition. We will be forever grateful for the amazing words our lecturer Justine Mason used to describe our journey with Familiarisation Videos and for the continued support from everyone at the University.” Roxanne France-Barton
Unfortunately, Karen was unable to make it to the awards ceremony, but her well deserved trophy is taking pride of place at home.
"I am truly blown away to have received the Students Union Presidents Award. What an honour. It was lovely to hear what Justine Mason had written when nominating us. It is great to receive that validation and recognition of all the hard work we have put into Familiarisation Videos and our studies. " Karen Williams
